On my last birthday I turned the big 2-1. Of course for us Mormons it's really not too big of a deal, but I still wanted to feel special so I asked Paul if we could take a trip to my favorite theme park, Six Flags Magic Mountain in California. Paul, being the wonderful man that he is, said we could. My birthday was on September 28 so we decided we would go the weekend that fell over the actual day. I invited my sister Marissa and her husband Steve to come along with us. Me and Marissa have always loved the beach so we thought it would be a great idea to stop at Santa Monica on our way up. We left on a Friday morning and got to Santa Monica at around 1pm shopped, ate lunch and played on the beach until about 4pm. Then it was time to head to our hotel in Valencia. Oh if only it would have been a quick drive! We hit rush hour traffic and I thought we would never make it out alive! I always thought Mesa traffic was bad, but California traffic is ten times worse! Anyways, so about two hours later (which should have been 40 min. later), we arrived at our hotel. My excitement grew because we could see the coasters from our room but I had to wait until the next morning to go-what a bummer! We ate dinner at Denny's that night. The next morning I woke up bright and early and got ready because I was just too excited to wait anymore! Marissa, Steve and Paul probably wanted to kill me that day because I was like a little kid seeing candy that they really wanted but just could not reach it. We finally made it to the park, rode everything and got very dehydrated, but we had tons of fun! We left the next day and I can say that was a way fun birthday and hopefully next year we can do something even more fun!
